My Perfect World

In my perfect world there would be
There would be much greatness
Many things one can't even see

It would all be fairness
Everything would be perfect
Nothing would have grayness

Everyone would do the correct
There would be no illness
Nobody would have to reject

Terza Rima

Through me the path into the city who endures

Through me enter into the ageless force

Through me the path into the souls off-course

Amends impulsed on my nobel providence

My providence was holly ascendancy

The highest sanity, and the early fondness

Talking About School (MSN conversation)

Tomas: Hey Matias!

Matias: Hey Tomas! How are you?

Tomas: I'm alright, I'm still not ready for school.

Matias: Yeah, I know, summer this year was really short!

Tomas: Yeah but it was enough for me to rest.

Matias: I guess.

Tomas: What'd you do this summer?

Matias: First, I went to Chicago, and then to Europe.

Tomas: Wow, what a fun summer!

Matias: Yeah, I got to see all of my old friends.

Tomas: Oh, that must have been fun.

Matias: It sure was. What did you do this summer?

Tomas: For the first time in my life, I went to visit Asia!

Matias: That must have been weird. Is the Asian culture different from ours?

Tomas: Yeah, it's totally different, but nice at the same time.

Matias: Jaja, maybe we should go live there some day!

Tomas: I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon!

Matias: So how was your first day of school?

Tomas: It was really fun! I got to see all of my old teachers!

Matias: Yeah, me too. My favorite teacher last year was Mr. Tangen!

Tomas: Yeah, he was great! I can't wait for us to be in his class again.

Matias: Yeah, talking about the books we had to read all summer will be great!

Tomas: My favorite book was 1984. Did you read it?

Matias: Yeah, that's the first one I read. It was pretty good.

Tomas: Hey Matias, I'm going to go play some drums.

Matias: Oh ok, talk to you later!

Tomas: Bye!

Matias: Bye!

The Blog Boom

After reading this article, I came to the conclusion that blogs are good and bad at the same time. They are in a way advancing the newspaper technology and putting it all online. Last year, when we started blogging about books, I didn't give it too much thought, and just thought of it as a way for the class to share work on the internet, and another step towards saving the environment. Not until reading this article did I understand the magnitude of blogs. They are not just a way of an english class writing essays, but a whole new way to express yourself about whatever you like. After finishing the article, I wondered if blogging really had every topic that people would search. I first searched for my interests, such as soccer and sports. After getting positive results and finding numerous blogs, I wanted to test blogs again. I searched random and unknown things to see if there were blogs about them, only to again get results. Only then did I realize how great blogs were. It is an easy, free and quick way for people to talk about their interests. It's also very interesting because anyone in the world can write in one, so it shows different points of views from different types of people. I started to think that blogs are in a way like Google. Anything you want to find is there. Someone has already written something about what you want to know. After thinking about this for some time, I wondered if it also had solutions to people's problems such as problems with their technological devices. On Google, I typed in 'iPhone battery problems', only to find hundreds of blogs about it. That was when blogging first truly shocked me. I couldn't believe that my ignorance about blogs was so big. I believe that it's a technological advance and also another way for people to express themselves. The only problem that I noticed while looking for blogs is that they are very informal. Just like the article had suggested, people many times used abbreviations for words. "And if they can't put quite the right inflection on a sentence, they'll often use an OMG (Oh my god!) or an emoticon, e.g., a smiley face :-) or a wink ;-) or a frown :-( instead of words. (Tilt your head to the left to see the emoticons here.)" I figured that this was probably a major reason in why blogs haven't taken over newspapers. While they both give news, and blogs are even better because one can comment, I find newspapers nicer to read solely because of their elegance in writing. Even though blogs could be the future of newspapers, and books, many people for years to come will stick with reading books only because of the feel. Reading an article online, or reading an actual book is a completely different experience. Not only that, but many people can't concentrate on reading on the computer for long because their eyes begin to hurt. These are all problems that essentially will make books last for a long time. Although I like the idea of blogs, i wouldn't recommend the world to depend on them completely.
